Rubina's Cake Shoppe

After graduating from the University of California, Irvine with a degree Electrical Engineering, Rubina worked at several of the world’s most prestigious engineering firms but her creativity and passion for food longed for a dynamic and delicious outlet. One night after tuning into The Food Network, she became mesmerized by the images of gravity-defying cake structures. She was inspired to turn her own passion into a career that incorporated her detail-oriented engineering skills and her creativity using a delicious medium. Since 2007, she’s been professionally trained by some of the country’s most reputable cake designers, including Chris Russom, Marjorie Chua, and Bronwen Webber – the same cake artists who first sparked her interest from television. In July of 2009, after the birth of her son, she left her career in engineering to focus on her two passions: her family and her edible art.

Rubina’s Cake Shoppe (formerly known as ‘Rubina’s Cakes’) officially started up in 2010. Since then, she’s had the opportunity to showcase cakes and gourmet cake truffles to thousands of dessert loving clients as well as over 100 of Hollywood’s hottest stars during the 2011 Oscar’s. She’s also baked cakes for celebrity clients, such as Oscar Nunez from The Office and Jen Marin from Tequila Sisters. Rubina’s cakes have been displayed on television, on the TVGN Network, and featured in the press.

What Rubina enjoys most about her career is taking the time to understand her clients’ personal tastes and transforming their distinct style into breathtaking desserts that make their special event unforgettable!
